the website www.rand-biotech.com has the purpose of informing you about our activities and our core business, of guiding you to the version of our website translated into your home language or of enabling contact with our offices and branches for various requests for information.
The personal data that you submit to Rand through this website, either for technical reasons or by your express choice, will be collected exclusively for these purposes, better explained below in this information note.
The personal data collected by rand-biotech.com are of three types: navigation data, cookies and data provided voluntarily by the user. In particular:
- Navigation data, which is information that marks the communication between your device and Rand’s website. These include the IP addresses or domain resources of the user, URI-based addresses (Uniform Resource Identifier) of the requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the response given by the server (successful, error, etc.) and other parameters related to the operating system and to the user’s IT environment that are acquired during normal internet browsing. These data are used only to allow you to navigate using the corresponding browser and enable the Rand website to obtain anonymous statistical information on the use of the website itself and to check its correct operation and they are automatically deleted after processing.
- Cookies. Cookies are small text strings containing exchange information that are stored by the user’s browser to facilitate the on-going browsing or subsequent new accesses to the website. All information relating to cookies can be found in the published Cookie Policy available on this website.
- Data provided voluntarily by the user are collected on the Contacts page where the user provides his or her name, surname, telephone number and email address as well as the text of a contact message with the pertinent requests and possibly the organisation to which he/she belongs.
Purpose of the processing and legal basis
Beyond what is better specified in the information note concerning the “Contacts” page, the data processing is based on:
- the legitimate interest in monitoring the website’s operation for the purpose of its efficiency and security;
- the legitimate interest in analysing anonymous statistical processing on the use of the website in order to optimise the services;
- the legitimate interest in processing any spontaneous requests from users;
- the fulfilment of any pre-contractual negotiations initiated by the data subject;
- consent for the installation of performance and targeting cookies.
Optional provision of data
Apart from what is specified for the navigation data and what is indicated in the information note on the “Contacts” page, the user is free to spontaneously provide his/her personal data.
A partial or incorrect provision of data makes it impossible to fully or correctly fulfil what may have been requested.
Users are advised not to send specific categories of data in their communications pursuant to art. 9 GDPR (information on health, political or trade union opinions, etc.) as well as not to transmit identification data of third parties where not strictly necessary (in this case it is better to use made-up names).
Data processing location and processing recipients
The following website is physically hosted in Italy at Aruba.
Users’ personal data will be processed by authorised RAND personnel and by external IT companies for occasional assistance and maintenance operations.
The Data Controller may transmit the data on the website to public bodies or authorities when required by law or when this is necessary to protect its own rights.
No data deriving from the interaction with the website is disclosed.
Processing and storage methods and procedures
Personal data are processed with automated and paper tools for the time strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which they were collected. In particular, the data of the user who requested information on the “Contacts” page are kept for the time necessary to respond to the requests received and will automatically be deleted afterwards.
Transfer of data to third countries
No transfer of your data to non-EU countries is envisaged.

Rights of the data subject

Furthermore, the data subject has the right to withdraw his/her consent at any time without prejudice to the lawfulness of the processing based on the consent given before the revocation.
Finally, the data subject has the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if he/she believes that the processing that concerns him/her violates the European Regulation.
